Welcome to my blog. It’s going to be quirky and unusual because that’s the type of person I am – well, living in a house called ‘Cockerels Roost’ you have to be! Themed around NETWORKING, I am going to use the beautiful pottery made by Devonshire potters 100 years ago, as tourist souvenirs, as my inspiration.
Each piece comes with a thought-provoking and sometimes humorous motto. Each of these old-sayings is as wise today as it was then – especially in the context of networking – so do check-in and discover my best tips on how to be an outstanding networker!
“When The Great Scorer Comes To Write Against Your Name, He Writes Not If You Won Or Lost, But How You Played the Game.”
So, what do I take from that?
There is no point in going networking and pretending to be what and who you are not. Be authentic. Focus on what you are good at.
Remember: don’t be pushy. Be a joy to work with and show people the pleasure and benefit they can get from working with you – and more importantly – make them feel as though they are missing out if they don’t!
